It occurs to me there is a great divide, an ‘us’ and ‘them’ scenario, going on when we talk about ‘creative people’. By labeling certain people as ‘creative’ we are in fact excluding others.
Now I know that some people are more creative than others, and we should all be very glad of that, but… Continue

The Creativity Gap

There is a definite gap between the value an organization places on creativity and its ability to fully utilize the talents of its creative people.
Recently we conducted a survey, which went to both creatives and business leaders, and some of the results are quite surprising.

The challenge in building for creative currency

Nigel,
I would like to discuss possibly seeing if our businesses may be aligned. I specialise in assisting companies in accessing the Research & Development tax concession. i apologise if you are already aware of it but basically the R&D tax concession allows companies to either pay less tax or in certain circumstances even get a cheque from the ATO for being creative in developing new or improved products, processes or services. Of course there is always govt fine print, but i would like to discuss opportunities with you. Cheers Rick

Hi Nigel, Thanks for the connection. I had a quick look at your site. I love this stuff. In a former life I used to do some team building through outdoor education.

One of the principles I encouraged was 'get fired.' During the problems solving, I'd encourage any suggestions to be put forward without the fear of ridicule or being belittled. The idea being that a silly idea can spark creativity in someone else who may have the winning idea..

Anyway, welcome to the site!
